Prompt: Write about something that you believed as a child.

Prompt Response: Growing up, I was an avid believer in fairies. I loved fairies as a child, and I would spend all my free time outside building fairy houses in hopes one would come and visit. I recently saw a video from when I was younger of my family and me on a camping trip with my younger brother running in circles on a pretend Harry Potter broom around the fire while I was making a fairy house. My brother then continues to trip and fall on his face and cry, but I was even more upset since he apparently almost fell onto my fairy house. I love this video because it's so funny how I only cared about my fairy house rather than the fact that my brother completely ate it. It also reminds me of the time when I was growing up, believing in all the made-up, nostalgic characters that every kid, at some point, was convinced were real. 

Summary: In class today, we reviewed old campaign ads and commercials and said if they were ethos, pathos, or logos, and why. We then got started on an assignment focused on those three literary devices.

Reflection: In class, I gained a better understanding of how to decide if something is ethos, pathos, or logos.

Prompt Response:  I spent my break with the flu, but was still able to enjoy it because I was surrounded by my family. I got a chance to see my grandpa and cousins, whom I see only once or twice a year, which made my Christmas. The goals I would like to achieve this year are to become more organized, drive alone on the highway, babysit more, and find a new hobby. Each of these goals is important to me because they all help to grow responsibility and give me more ways to use my free time rather than being on my phone. 1. Prompt: As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?

Prompt Response:  As I grow older, I will always stand by the fact that abortion is healthcare and that women should have the choice of what they get to do with their own body without being called a "murderer". I will never change my opinion on this topic and will always continue to debate and inform people on abortion. Many people, including my friends, are very naive to what's happening in the world and how it could affect them and their future family and friends. I won't call anyone's opinions stupid to their face, but I will think and then continue to inform them of the topic they usually know nothing about.
