Prompt: If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

Prompt Response:  I would write a poem about the beach. I've planned two trips to the beach in the last week, one for winter break and another for spring break. I'm so excited, and I'm ready to be tan. I'm going on both trips with my best friends to Miramar Beach and Coco Beach. I love the beach, it's all I think about, and it's where I always wish I were. Summary: In class today, we took notes on rhetorical analysis. Reflection:  Taking notes helped me understand how to use rhetorical analysis.

Prompt: When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

Prompt Response:  When ever i'm in a mood, I don't like I try to distract myself from how I'm feeling. I typically put my phone down because it only worsens my mood. I then make a bagle wiht cream cheese because it's my favorite food. I then sit down and watch tv or focus on something I need to get done, like cleaning my room. If that doesn't work, I try to discover the issue head-on and figure out what's bothering me, and then I realize it's not something important that I need to consume my brain and attitude. Summary: In class today, we completed a News Ela asignment. Reflection:  This made me learn about ice melting.

Creativity comes in all differnt forms and varries from art to music etc. when I work on a projectI start out with a plan and simple mock of a design. After this step I start researching or collecting insperation for my project. A project I created that I was most proud of was a scarp book. For my friend's birthday I wnated to give her a scrap book of our friendship, it was very tedious and time consuming but was worth it at the end. She loved the scrap book and how pretty it was with all the designs, pretty paper, washie tape and all. Summary: In class today, we completed a writable assignment. Reflection:  The writable helped me to understand the new vocabulary terms.

Prompt: After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

Prompt Response:  The   rhetorical question is the most effective rhetorical device. It forces the person listening to do the work for you. Instead of just giving them an answer, you ask a question where the answer is obvious. This makes the listener think the idea was their own, which is much more convincing than being told what to do. It’s a great way to grab attention and make a point feel like common sense. It asks a simple question, but sometimes a simple question is just the thing needed to change someones perspective or make something stand out to them. Summary: In class today, we took our rhetorical devices quiz, and I got an 84%. Reflection:  The quiz made me realize I can identify rhetorical devices much better than I thought. It was also easier than I thought because the quiz was questions related to what we've been reading in class all week.

This leds me to mumbing and talking so fast I sounds liek complete giberish. It's somehting I constantly struggle with and have been practicing on how to talk more calmy and articuritlly. Struggling with adhd I tend to get off topic easily and ramble about random things. The more passionate I am about a topic the faster I talk and the more jummbled my words get. Moral of the story, I'm fluent in giberish and I'm working on articulating my words better. Summary: In class today we all came in late do to the ice protest. Prompt: Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

Prompt Response:  A time I didn't feel like myself was when I was going through a time of derealization. Derealization is the feeling that ur living in a movie, feeling like you're not even real. The best way I could describe derelization is by saying it's like you're watching your life through a screen. I occasionally feel this every once in a while for usually one day at a time, but this tiem was different. I felt like I wasn't living my life, and I was almost a robot. I felt this way for a week straight. It was a weird feeling and made me realize life is not as stressful and intense as we think. I also realized that everyone is living their own lives, with their own issues, meaning I shouldn't care about what people think as much as I do. Summary: We did a rhetorical analysis of Martin Luther King's speech. Reflection:  This made me understand MLK's speech of a deeper level.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Prompt Response:  A place where I find myself at the most peace is in meditation. I started taking meditation classes at a Buddhist monastery every Wednesday for 2 hours. This has helped me to calm my mind and focus more. In class, when in meditation, my mind goes completely blank and makes me feel like the only person in the room. Struggling with adhd my mind is constantly busy and can never be at peace. With meditation, I've learned how to be at peace and not have something constantly on my mind. Summary: In class today, we took more notes on rhetorical devices and practiced how to use them. Reflection:  This exercise helped me understand how to use the rhetorical devices.

Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Prompt Response:  A time when I had to rely on someone else was when my friend promised me and 2 other people that she would take us on a spring break trip. We were going to go to Gulf Shores, where everyone else we were friends with would be. She wasn't very vocal about confirming she would let us go with her, and every time we would ask about spring break plans, she would change the subject, which was difficult because spring break is a big deal in high school. After everyone else in our friend group had bought their spring break house and confirmed their groups, we were still relying on our friend to confirm if we could go with her since her parents would all take us. After weeks of thinking she would take us, she bailed and decided to go on a different trip, leaving us without any plans and nowhere to go for spring break. Having to rely on her decision and flaking last second was very stressful and sad because we thought we'd be stranded at home while everyone we knew would...

Prompt: What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

Prompt Response:  In highshcool I learned not to live your life based on other opinions on you or your actions. One will get way farther in life living for themselves rather than living for others. I completely agree with this, and it has changed me as a person fully. Once I started living life, not caring what the "mean girl" or random person in public thought about me, I was able to have more fun and be happier. This will definitely help me when I go off the collgee becuase I will have to be prepared to be around a lot more opinions and different people who won't all like me, and I'll have to accept that. I think the skills of organization, kindness, and motivation are the key steps in life. Summary: In class, we took notes on rhetoric. Reflection:  Taking notes on rhetoric helped me better understand the subject and provided a valuable study tool for our test on rhetoric.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

Prompt Response:   A time that I took a hiatus from something important was when I took a break from guitar. Quarantine in the 7th grade made it impossible to meet with my guitar teacher; we had to do Zoom calls, which isn't very helpful for a middle schooler learning the guitar. Although I had been playing the guitar for three years at that point and loved it, I started to dread our Zoom calls, which led us to call once every other week, and I became increasingly uninterested. I decided to take a hiatus from guitar and soon regretted it because my "break" from playing guitar eventually led me to fully quit. Although I didn't care at the time because it gave me more free time, today I still wish I played because it gave me something to do, and I was good at it when I was younger. If I continued to play today, I would have been really good. Summary: We practiced more literary devices. Reflection: The practice helped me to understand the literary term better.

Prompt: In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

Prompt Response:  I spent my break with the flu, but was still able to enjoy it because I was surrounded by my family. I got a chance to see my grandpa and cousins, whom I see only once or twice a year, which made my Christmas. The goals I would like to achieve this year are to become more organized, drive alone on the highway, babysit more, and find a new hobby. Each of these goals is important to me because they all help to grow responsibility and give me more ways to use my free time rather than being on my phone. 1. The first goal I would like to achieve this year is to become more organized.  This goal is important because it will help me keep on top of my work and will allow me to live in a clean workspace.   By April, 2026, I plan on accomplishing this goal by spending 10 minutes a day cleaning up little things in my room so it's constantly clean. I will also start using a planner to keep my life and work organized. 2. My second goal I would like to accomplis...
