Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

Prompt Response: A time when I had to rely on someone else was when my friend promised me and 2 other people that she would take us on a spring break trip. We were going to go to Gulf Shores, where everyone else we were friends with would be. She wasn't very vocal about confirming she would let us go with her, and every time we would ask about spring break plans, she would change the subject, which was difficult because spring break is a big deal in high school. After everyone else in our friend group had bought their spring break house and confirmed their groups, we were still relying on our friend to confirm if we could go with her since her parents would all take us. After weeks of thinking she would take us, she bailed and decided to go on a different trip, leaving us without any plans and nowhere to go for spring break. Having to rely on her decision and flaking last second was very stressful and sad because we thought we'd be stranded at home while everyone we knew would be tanning on the beaches at Gulf Shores. Last minute, we were able to find a group and go on spring break, but for those few weeks without any official plans and relying on a "maybe," was not fun.

Summary: In class, we went over new rhetorical devices and practiced them.

Reflection: This exercise taught me how to use these new devices.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt: As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?

After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity.
