Prompt: Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.
Prompt Response: A time when I was afraid to accept the truth was realizing that I realistically won't make it into my dream college. My dream college is UGA, visiting down there for games and watching them on TV, my whole life has always set me with the expectation of going there. That was until I then realized UGA's acceptance rate is 32.9%. This was a sad, but needed realization. As an A-B student with a mediocre GPA and a lack of high-level or AP classes, my chances are slim. My goal is to write a breathing college essay and try my hardest to get a good score on the ACT to increase my chances of getting in. But I have come to learn that whatever college I end up at, it will be ok and that I can also always transfer to UGA later in college.
Summary: In class today, we took notes on how to form an argument. We also learned how to use ethos, pathos, and logos. After our note-taking, we then spent the last 10 minutes of class, spending more time on an ethos, pathos, and logos worksheet.
Reflection: I learned the main steps in creating an argumentative essay.
