Prompt Response: The mask in the film represents trying to fit in to society and their standards by how everyone had simple masks on, mostly without designs to show that it is expected that everyone is to act and look the same. This makes it hard for the characters to express their true selves when they can just hide behind a mask and fit in with the crowd. A moment that stood out to me in the film is when there was a group of girls wearing yellow masks next to a sign saying "this is what beauty looks like". It stood out to me because it is similar to high school, considering people who are considered conventionally pretty think they're above their peers. The film relates the the poem "I too" at the end of the film when the girl takes off her mask and leaves the school building, showing that just because she's different doesn't mean she's any less of a person. I want my mask to reveal my personality and favorite things that make me me.
