He lacked basic survival gear, carrying only a small-caliber rifle, no compass, and a simple road map—which Jim Gallien noted was entirely insufficient for the harsh Alaskan bush. His dismissive reaction to Gallien's warnings about the terrain and food scarcity proves he prioritized a romanticized vision over the lethal reality of the wilderness. This makes me think that McCandless is cocky, thinking he can take on anything, naive, and ignorant.

Reflection: We completed the first chapter and it gave me an idea of what the book was maybe going to be about.

Prompt Response:  I spent my break with the flu, but was still able to enjoy it because I was surrounded by my family. Prompt Response:  As I grow older, I will always stand by the fact that abortion is healthcare and that women should have the choice of what they get to do with their own body without being called a "murderer". I will never change my opinion on this topic and will always continue to debate and inform people on abortion. Many people, including my friends, are very naive to what's happening in the world and how it could affect them and their future family and friends.
