Prompt: Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.
Prompt Response: The movie made Chris's actions more justifiable, considering it looked as if he was living in survivable areas like the bus and was around people throughout his travels so far. Although the movie emphasized how he up and left his family and sent back their letters back, making his actions somewhat unjustifiable. In my opinion the movie made Chris's adventure so far looks a lot less dangerous than the book made it seem. I do think his journey will get more intense as the movie goes on. I do also think that the movie justifies Chris's actions more by how if shows Chris as such a more happy person, than the book portrays him as.
Summary: We watched the "Into The Wild" movie and answered questions about the movie v.s the book.
Reflection: Watching the movie helped me gain a better perspective on how Chris is as a person.
