It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

Prompt Response: My favorite thing about being a part of the Lakeside community is the people. Throughout high school, I have formed so many long-lasting friendships that have all changed my life for the better. I show off my school spirit by being a part of SGA to help make the school a more fun, lively environment for the students. I also participate in all spirit week days and attend the majority of the football games to support our team. My favorite homecoming tradition has to be powderpuff. It is such a fun experience to bond with people I might not usually talk to, and it gives me something to do on the weekends when we practice for the game. I also love watching the boys' powderpuff and cheering on my friends who are playing.

Summary: In class today, we took a quiz on a poem we dissected and annotated earlier in the week. I got a 90% on it!

Reflection: I learned that poems are really not confusing once you dive deeper into their meaning and not just pay attention to the surface level themes seen in the poem..

Prompt Response:  As I grow older, I will always stand by the fact that abortion is healthcare and that women should have the choice of what they get to do with their own body without being called a "murderer". I will never change my opinion on this topic and will always continue to debate and inform people on abortion. Many people, including my friends, are very naive to what's happening in the world and how it could affect them and their future family and friends. I won't call anyone's opinions stupid to their face, but I will think and then continue to inform them of the topic they usually know nothing about. Most people with whom I debate or discuss this topic or similar causes often lack a clear understanding of the subject matter and often rely on a single, unreliable source for their information. Prompt Response: A time that had me feeling absurd and foolish is when I tried out for the Lakesdie volleyabll team for the 3rd year in a row and made jv for the seocnd year in a row. This left me feeling foolish and embarssed. I am now on Jv praying I have a slot on varsity next year. I feel that being put on jv though has helped me to get more playing time than I would have gotten on Varsity. Summary: Today in class, we analyzed a poem that we are being tested on Friday about. We also watched a video of a man walking on a typerope over the Grand Canyon.
